Dress the Bump // Denim

If you’re pregnant during the summer, it can be hard to step away from dresses. They are so easy, so cute, and so comfortable. But after a while, any fashionista is going to need to change it up!

Luckily, one doesn’t have to look far for maternity fashion inspo.

I never thought denim was something I’d really be interested in while pregnant, but leave it to Bey + Chrissy to change a girl’s mind! So, I set out to find the perfect maternity jeans.

While I really liked how the inset/side panel denim fit and felt, none of the maternity styles were giving me the look I was going for. So, I set out to find the perfect no-panel denim, that fit under the belly.

Meet Gap’s Best Girlfriend jean! A mid-rise, slouchy denim that fits slim through the ankle. Although it’s not a maternity denim, it’s great because it fits low on the belly or under it and has room in the hips + seat, making it comfortable and fashionable enough to channel your inner Bey.

You can pair it with anything that you would normally wear denim with, but the low fit shows off the bump, making crop tops + body suits a no-brainer!

If you’re carrying low, like me, this look is not going to be feasible the whole nine months, so be sure to rock it early on. But, the good news is that since you rocked them early on, you probably only went up a size or two and will be able to rock them after baby comes.

For those of you who are anti-denim, maybe I can interest you in a similar look with maximum comfort…

Meet H&M’s men’s Denim Sweatpants. Just like true denim, they can be dressed up or down. And, just like true sweatpants, they are so very comfy!

Don’t be afraid to pair them with a bodysuit and show a little skin!
